SRM Distance Education Admission 2025: The online application for ODL learning courses for the July 2025 academic year is now available on the university’s official website. Deadline for SRMIST Distance Education admissions for this session’s various UG and PG courses is 25 September 2025.

About SRM University- SRMIST institute was established in 1985. It was founded by Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, chancellor of Chennai, Tamil Nadu’s SRM Institute of Science and Technology. It offers distance education through its Directorate of Distance Education to give professionals and those without the means or time to travel flexible learning options. UG and PG courses offered by SRMIST DDE include BA in English, BCom, BCA, BA JMC, MA, MBA, MCA, MCom, and MA JMC in a number of specializations. Admission to 13 UG and PG courses, including distance learning specializations, is available at SRMIST. Admissions are held twice a year by the university, once in January and once in July. Applications for the July 2025 session are still being accepted on the university’s official website.

SRM Distance Education Admission for UG

Students must check the eligibility criteria for the chosen course. Passing the 10+2 (intermediate or equivalent) exam from an accredited board with a min aggregate of 50% is the general eligibility requirement for SRM University’s distance education undergraduate (UG) programs. Certain programs may have extra requirements, like a minimum percentage in a particular subject, like mathematics, or specific subject requirements. 

• Applicants must have completed at least 12th grade from a relevant board to be eligible for UG admission.
• A minimum of 50% is required for any undergraduate degree at SRM distance education.
• Some courses may ask for a particular subject requirement or a specific percentage for admission.

SRM Distance Education Admission for PG

Postgraduate programs offered by SRM Distance Education typically require candidates to have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with at least 50% minimum marks. SRMIST Distance learning Admission Fee Structure

Directorate of Distance Education at SRM University charges tuition fees between ₹36,000-₹1.89 lakhs for a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. Depending on the particular course and whether the program is undergraduate or graduate, the fee structure varies. For instance, the fees for UG vary from ₹36,000 to ₹1.29 Lakhs, and for PG, from ₹1 Lakh to ₹1.89 Lakhs, respectively.

The distance course costs less than the regular course. This is the reason why students choose distance courses over regular or full-time courses. 

Application Process for SRM Distance Education Admission

The application process for the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) typically involves registering online, paying the application fee, and sending in the required documents. Candidates may also be required to take an entrance exam, such as SRMJEEE for B.Tech, depending on the program. SRMJEEM for MBA or M.Tech, and/or go to an in-person interview. Following that, shortlisted applicants will receive invitations for counseling and admission verification.

Online Application- Applicants should fill out the application form for any course first.

• Application Fee – After carefully filling out the application form, students are required to pay the application fee for the chosen program.
• Entrance Exams- Now, you may be asked to attend an entrance exam (If required by the course)
• Selection Process – Students will be selected based on their merit scores or entrance exam scores. Some courses may require a personal interview.
• Counselling & Admission- After completing the process, candidates will be invited for counselling. After that, admission will be confirmed.
