GITAM University Distance Education 2025: Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) was inaugurated in 1980. It is a deemed University that was launched by the late M.V.V.S. Murthi in 1980 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) was launched in 2009 with the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management University Distance Education has started the admission procedure. The university offers a variety of Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programs such as Arts, Commerce, Management, and other fields through its Centre for Distance Learning (CDL). The last date for admission under the July session will be 31 August 2025*.

The duration of undergraduate programs are 3 years which are divided into 6 semesters which includes Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM), Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science, Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology, and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Public Administration. On the other hand, the duration of postgraduate programs is 2 years and a total of 4 semesters, including a Master of Arts (MA) in English.

• Eligibility criteria of Bachelor of Arts (MA) Political Science: Candidates must have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board, such as ICSE, CBSE, or any state board, with the required subjects. Candidates must have a minimum of 40-50% aggregate marks. Any student from any stream can apply for this program.
• Eligibility criteria of Bachelor of Arts (MA) Sociology: Students need to have passed their 12th standard examination from a reputed board with a maximum 45-50% aggregate marks. English is a mandatory subject in 10+2 for admission in this program
• Eligibility criteria of Bachelor of Arts (MA) Public Administration: Candidates can apply for this program from any stream ( Arts, Science, Commerce) are eligible for admission. Candidates must have completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination from a well-known board with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
• Eligibility criteria of Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM): Candidates must have a common necessary background in commerce subjects such as Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, and Mathematics. Candidates need to pass their 12th standard examination with a major in commerce and require a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
• Eligibility criteria of Master of Arts (MA) English: Students must have cleared their graduation in Bachelor of Arts (MA) in English or any relevant bachelor’s degree from a well-known university with an aggregate of 50% – 60% in their graduation.
